Artist Statement
I primarily works with oil paint but also enjoys working with acrylic paint, and experimenting with various materials. For me, painting is a space for uninhibited expression—an opportunity to explore subversions of identity shaped by motherhood and cultural heritage.
My approach to art is playful and intuitive, often characterized by a vibrant color palette that draws heavily from my Caribbean background. Through both real and imagined narratives, I weave stories centered around personal transformation.
My compositions typically feature semi-realistic portraiture portrayed in a mystical, dreamlike manner. As I continue to refine my artistic voice, I aim to cultivate a distinctive style that embodies natural, mystical beauty. Ultimately, my work is intended to evoke a moment of peace and wonder.
